Vasily intends to regain his champion status in a fight with Kambosos
Former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko spoke succinctly about the upcoming championship fight with the Australian George Kambosos.
“We have only one world champion in Ukraine – Usyk. On May 12 there will be two of them.”
The fight between Vasily and George for the vacant IBF lightweight belt will take place on May 12. The event, which also includes two undercard fights, will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, starting at approximately 5 a.m. Kyiv time.
In May 2023, Lomachenko lost to Devin Haney in a fight for the title of absolute world champion.
In turn, Kambosos defeated Briton Maxie Hughes in his last fight, winning the IBO lightweight title.
