Manager Minaya: Our players were contacted about a fixed match

The meeting between Minaya and Dynamo is acquiring new data

Manager Minaya Miroslav Nebesnik commented on information from Ukrainian journalists about an alleged attempt to bribe the team’s players before the game with Dynamo (1:3).

“At this stage, I can only confirm the fact that there was indeed access to our players. We cannot disclose all other information yet, since we are cooperating with the investigation. As soon as possible, we will, of course, not remain silent and give all the explanations.”

“There is a certain procedure when clubs receive suspicious calls. They tried to immediately write explanations and notify the relevant UAF committee.

“The players themselves informed the club management about this before the match. We had additional conversations with all the players.”

Journalist Roman Bebekh reported that before the final match between Minaj and Dynamo, an unnamed defendant approached two players of the Uzhgorod club with an offer to “realize comfortable confidence” for five thousand dollars. The footballers refused the offer.

According to his colleague Igor Burbas, Dmitry Nemchaninov and Evgeniy Skiba received offers to “leave the match”. Each of the players was to receive five thousand dollars.

The Minaj – Dynamo match should have taken place last winter. On December 3, the match started at 13:00 at the Minaj stadium, but lasted just over a minute. Referee Alexander Shandor suspended the match due to an air raid warning. Since the threat throughout Ukraine continued for a long time, the match delegate decided to postpone the game.

As a result, the parties agreed to finish the match in Kyiv on April 17. Dynamo confidently won the first half against the outsider, but after the break Minaj gave a fight. Zeljko Ljubenovic’s team quickly reduced the gap in the score and had several chances to score a second goal, until at the end of the game the Kiev team scored the final score – 1:3.

Minaj with 15 points remains in last place in the UPL. On Monday, April 22, Transcarpathians will host Rukh. Dynamo is second with a four-point gap from Shakhtar. Today, April 21, the White and Blue Houses will play with Polesie.
