Former CSKA defender Vladimir Ponomarev told he named the cat in memory of his good friend, football player and coach Vladimir Fedotov .
Fedotov spent his entire playing career at CSKA and began coaching at the capital club. The last team in Fedotov’s coaching career was Spartak Moscow, which the specialist left in 2007. Vladimir Fedotov died on March 29, 2009. He was 66 years old.
– Some people think that I named the cat Fedey in honor of Fyodor Chalov, but this is not the case. I named it so in memory of my good friend Volodya Fedotov. I myself gave him this nickname – Fedya, after the surname Fedotov. Vladimir Grigorievich was a very good footballer and a very good person. I miss him, I miss him a lot. He left early. 15 years have already passed… So he named the cat that. My cat is red and Volodka was slightly reddish. By the way, Fedya plays football very well with a tennis ball and a nut,” Ponomarev told .
