Rostov goalkeeper Sergei Pesyakov said he made a mistake by not calling for a substitution during the break in the Russian championship match with Spartak.
The meeting of the 25th round of the MIR RPL took place in Rostov-on-Don and ended with a score of 5:1 in favor of Spartak. Pesyakov left the field in the 59th minute of the match, and goalkeeper Nikita Medvedev came on in his place. The head coach of the Rostov team, Valery Karpin, reported on that Pesyakov was injured in the first half. In the 54th minute of the match, the “red-whites” took the advantage (2:1) after an error by Pesyakov.
– Conditions could have been better. “The fact that he did not ask for a replacement during the break was a mistake,” reports correspondent Pesyakov.
Rostov is in eighth place in the RPL standings with 34 points.
