Georgia wants to host Champions League final in 2028

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced at a government meeting that the country’s authorities want to organize the Champions League final in 2028.

According to him, a new stadium with a capacity of 70,000 people will be built in Tbilisi, where football and rugby matches can take place.

— I would like to inform you that we are submitting an application to host the Champions League final in 2028 in a new stadium. This will be a very important gift for Georgian football and its fans,” Kobakhidze was quoted as saying by the press service of the Georgian Cabinet of Ministers.

The Champions League final of the 2023/24 season will take place on June 1, 2024 at Wembley Stadium in London.
