Jude Bellingham won Breakthrough of the Year Award

World number one tennis player Novak Djokovic became “Sportsman of the Year” according to Laureus World Sports Awards.

Let us remember that last year the Serbian tennis player won three of the four Grand Slam tournaments and the ATP Finals. Novak became the best athlete according to Laureus for the fifth time.

The best athlete was recognized as a football player from Barcelona and Spain women’s national football team Aitanu Bonmati. The Spanish national football team itself was named Team of the Year. Let’s remember that La Roja won the World Cup last year.

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham received the “Breakthrough of the Year” prize. American gymnast Simone Biles won the “Comeback of the Year” category.

We would like to remind you that among the contenders for the “Disabled Athlete of the Year” award was a Ukrainian Paralympic swimmer Daniil Chufarov. Dutch wheelchair tennis player Dide de Groot won this “sports Oscar” category.
