Nadal will play for Team Europe at the Laver Cup in September

Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev will also perform with the legendary Spaniard

Former world number one Rafael Nadal will play for the European team at Laver Cup in September.

“I will be very happy to play again in the Laver Cup. I have special memories of the competition, including playing against Roger Federer two years ago in his last match of his career.”

“At this point in my career, I want to go out on the court and make the most of every opportunity. I have always liked working in a team. I’m looking forward to helping Team Europe win the Laver Cup.”

Previously, Nadal entered the Roland Garros 2024 application using a “protected rating”. Since the beginning of 2023, Rafael has had only seven fights at the professional level due to injuries. The Spaniard also withdrew from the Indian Wells tournament due to poor form.

In addition to Nadal, the European team will feature another Spaniard, Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev from Germany and “neutral tennis player” Daniil Medvedev. Americans Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz, as well as Australian Alex de Minaur, will compete for the World team.

The Laver Cup will take place in Berlin from 22 to 24 September. The captains of the European and World teams for the last time will be Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe.
