Committee UEFA for national team tournaments, voted to increase team entries from 23 to 26 players on European Championship 2024.
The decision must be approved by the UEFA Executive Committee. The committee will not meet in person until May 22, but has the option to meet remotely. The decision is expected to be approved by the end of the week.
The proposal to increase the number of football players at the 2024 European Championship was put forward by the coaches of some national teams. Let us remind you that UEFA has increased the number of players in applications to 26 for Euro 2020 due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. FIFA has also expanded the applications of national teams for the 2022 World Cup.
The Ukrainian national team will play in the group stage of the 2024 European Championship in Quartet E with Belgium, Slovakia and Romania. Sergei Rebrov’s team will play the first match against Romania on June 17. Ticket sales for the blue-yellow matches at Euro 2024 are also open.
Euro 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. The matches of the European Championship will be held in arenas in Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
