Adidas has won competition from Nike and will become Liverpool’s kit supplier from the 2025/26 season

The German brand will reunite with the club for the first time since 2012

Liverpool ready to announce a change in club equipment manufacturer starting this season 2025/26. Expected that Adidas will replace in this capacity Nikethe Reds’ current technical sponsor.

Thus, the Merseyside club will return to cooperation with the German transnational brand after 13 years. Adidas dressed Liverpool from 1985 to 1996 and 2006 to 2012.

Nike, which became the Reds’ technical sponsor in 2020 following a controversial split with New Balance, paid the club a base fee of £30 million (less than €35 million) a year. True, with all the royalties from equipment sales, Liverpool’s annual income could reach 50 million.

This is still not much for an elite-level collaboration – just look at the new contract between Nike and Barcelona, under which the latter will receive 120 million euros per season, not counting the signing bonus.

It is clear that Adidas has offered the Merseysiders better terms than their current partner. It is expected that the club will also conclude a contract with the German manufacturing brand for a five-year period – through the 2029/30 season inclusive.

At the moment, it is Adidas that has a record-breaking contract at the Premier League level – Manchester United receives £90 million per season from this sponsor. In addition to the Red Devils, the brand also outfits Arsenal, Fulham and Nottingham Forest in the league, with Aston Villa and Newcastle joining these clubs from the 2024/25 season.

In addition to Liverpool, Nike’s clients in the Premier League remain Chelsea, Tottenham and Brighton.

Liverpool ranks second in the English Championship after 33 rounds, behind Arsenal on goal difference. Manchester City is one point behind Jurgen Klopp’s team (who will leave the club in the summer), but still has a match in hand.
