The tournament will be held in the USA, 32 clubs will participate, including 12 from Europe
Tech giant Apple is approaching an agreement with FIFA to obtain worldwide broadcaster rights for a new club world championshipwhich is scheduled for summer 2025.
FIFA reportedly initially valued the deal at four billion euros, but the final amount Apple will pay is expected to be “only” a quarter of that.
The exclusivity of the agreement is that it will be the first time in history that FIFA will transfer all broadcast rights for the tournament to one company, instead of traditionally dividing them into different packages around the world.
The Club World Championship in a new format will be held in June–July 2025. The tournament will take place in the USA, and 32 clubs (8 groups of 4 teams each) from six confederations will take part. According to the rules, more than two clubs from one country cannot enter the tournament, unless they win the Champions League.
All 12 participants of the 2025 World Cup from Europe have already been decided: Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG, Inter, Porto, Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Salzburg.
