The Ukrainian took second place in the all-around
Ukrainian Oleg Vernyaev won silver at European Championship 2024 in artistic gymnasticswhich takes place in Rimini, Italy.
Vernyaev took second place in all-around, scoring a total of 84,031 points. The Ukrainian lost 0.234 points to Marios Georgiou from Cyprus, and Yumin Abbadini from Italy took third place.
Another Ukrainian gymnast, Ilya Kovtun, competed in the all-around. The Ukrainian took sixth place, 0.934 points behind the European champion.
Vernyaev also made it to the finals in the pommel horse. Kovtun will perform in the final competitions on parallel bars and high bar, Nazar Chepurny on parallel bars and vault, Igor Radivilov on vault. On Sunday, the Ukrainian team will also compete in team competitions.
The European Men’s Championship in Rimini will last until April 28. And from May 2 to 5, also in Italy, the continental women’s artistic gymnastics championship will take place.
