Vice President Artem Gagarin and Commercial Director Oksana Abuzyarova visited Berlin, Dresden, Gelsenkirchen and Cologne
Delegation Krivbassa visited stadiums in Germany. The club chooses the place where it plans to play home matches in European competitions in the 2024/25 season.
Vice President of Krivbass Artem Gagarin and Commercial Director Oksana Abuzyarova visited Berlin, Dresden, Gelsenkirchen and Cologne. Stadiums in these cities accommodate from 25,000 to 75,000 spectators for European Cup matches. The arenas in Berlin, Gelsenkirchen and Cologne will host the Euro 2024 games and are fully equipped and ready. Arenas differ in the number of business seats and skyboxes, which also affects the formation of the overall estimate and final choice.
“In four days in Germany we visited four different arenas. All of them are really very diverse, both in capacity and in other individual features. After previous ZOOM conferences with many German stadiums, we have identified our priority arenas: Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion in Dresden, RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen and Olympiastadion in Berlin. At this stage, it was important to personally visit and discuss some nuances and details with the management of the stadiums and representatives of the clubs that hold their matches there,” said Gagarin.
It is reported that Krivbass is also considering the option of holding European Cup matches in another country, which is geographically closer to Ukraine. This will ease the logistics burden for the club.
Earlier, Krivbass vice-president Gagarin said that Germany is the main destination for home matches in the event of qualifying for European competition. The club also considered options in Poland and England.
Krivbass ranks third in the UPL with 51 points. In the next match, Yuri Vernidub’s team will host Metalist 1925 on April 28.
