The North American received a fine worth R$100,000 and, in addition, will have to serve 45 days of suspension, by decision of the full court of the STJD.

The verdict was made by the majority of auditors. Furthermore, as the decision was taken as a last resort, no type of appeal is applicable in the situation and the manager will have to comply with everything assigned to him. Regarding the suspension, the North American has already served 28 days and has another 23 days left to complete his sentence.

Textor was reported four times, violating two articles of the Disciplinary Code. Thus, it was included in article 184, when the agent commits two or more infractions, which culminates in the accumulation of penalties. This was the reason for the R$100,000 fine, applied after the suspension began.

The complaints against the businessman were for violating article 243-F, which deals with insults to honor, and 258-B, for invading the place designated for arbitration or where the match took place. After the game ended, John Textor walked onto the pitch. Nilton Santosquestioned the arbitration team present and gave an interview to ‘TV Globo’ showing his indignation with the result.

According to the American’s defense, there was no type of invasion, as Textor held a credential, which gave him the right to enter the field. Furthermore, the businessman would have done this to meet with the players, who were in a moment of prayer.
