Artem took penalties twice, but managed to score only one of them
Girona beat with a clean sheet Las Palmas in the away match of the 33rd round of the Spanish Examples – 2:0.
There were three penalties in this match. The first of them was appointed already in the first minutes against the visitors, but Paulo Gassaniga parried Sandro Ramirez’s shot.
In the 26th minute, Artem Dovbik responded in the same way – the Ukrainian’s weak low shot was parried by Alvaro Valles, but the first to finish was Giron’s David Lopez.
The Ukrainian scorer rehabilitated himself in the opening period of the second half. He again approached the 11-meter mark and still managed to break through the home goalkeeper. For Dovbik, this goal was already the 19th in the current championship, and he secured his status as the top scorer of the season.
Artem left the field in the 70th minute. At the same time, his compatriot Viktor Tsygankov came on as a substitute, having recovered from a minor injury.
Girona ended a streak of five consecutive away defeats and moved at least temporarily ahead of Barcelona into second place. Las Palmas, without a win since February 10, is in 13th place.
Girona will host Barcelona on May 4 in the central match of the 34th round. Las Palmas will travel to visit Real Sociedad.
