The mentor of Dnepr-1 complains about the inability to carry out high-quality rotation, but does not relieve himself of responsibility for the result
Head coach SK Dnepr-1 Yuri Maksimov commented on the dramatic defeat from Dynamo (1:2) match of the 26th round Ukrainian Premier League.
“The reason [неудачных результатов] I see it only in the coach, because the coach is responsible for the result. This is a question for me.”
“Dynamo is always an irritant for any team. The guys came out and played for themselves, for the city. They can play football – that’s known. We prepare ourselves for every game, but there are matches when we play poorly, and there are times when we play well. There are some issues, but they won’t be resolved right now.”
“We had a transfer ban in the winter, five players left, and then Vasily Kravets. We took Ocheretko – a very good guy and football player, he helps us a lot, but there must be rotation. The training process is underway, we need to keep the guys in good shape. There are questions, but I repeat: the coach is responsible for the result, so I will be responsible for it. Thanks to the guys for playing and for their attitude towards their work.”
“Dynamo’s first goal? We have referees who are responsible for this. There is also VAR where you can look. There was a goal, so there was a goal.”
Let us remind you that Dnepr won the first half at home against the Kiev team thanks to a goal from Alexei Gutsulyak. After the break, Vladislav Kabaev quickly equalized the score. The denouement came in the end: Dynamo remained in the minority after Alexander Tymchik was sent off, but immediately scored the winning goal: Vladislav Vanat completed a quick attack after a pass from Vladislav Supryaga.
Dnepr-1 remained in fourth place, significantly reducing the chances of winning bronze. In the event of today’s victory over Veres, Rukh may get close to Maximov’s team.
In the next round, Dnipro, also on their home field, will face Krivbass, which is in third place.
