According to the Dynamo coach, his team increased speed after the break, which allowed them to ultimately achieve the result
Head coach Dynamo Alexander Shovskovsky shared his thoughts about the away match against SK Dnepr-1 (2:1) and told how his team managed to snatch the victory.
“The matches with Dnepr and Dnepr-1 are always very interesting, always very difficult. This goes back to the time when we were in another country. It was always interesting, but it was always difficult. Yes, our clubs are friendly with each other, but friendly relations end when you step onto the football field.”
“We were preparing for a difficult match, we understood what our opponent was playing for, we told the guys that we would have to do a lot of running work, we would have to endure a lot, that we had to set up the game, and also what we had to do to find our moments in attack “
“Unfortunately, we missed an unnecessary goal, one might say that we gave it to the opponent. Our central defenders have no right to play this way and allow the opponent to score in such situations. But I thank the whole team for coming together, showing character, putting the pressure on the opponent in the end and snatching victory.”
“You must understand a simple thing. What happens in the locker room will always remain there. I will never talk about tactical changes, I will never talk about any emotional or psychological attitudes.”
“The team understood that we needed to start from 0:1, that there were moments that should play into our hands. We have rearranged our actions a little. Of course, we needed to increase our speed so that the opponent would spend more energy. When this happens, the opposing team gets a little distracted and doesn’t fully maintain discipline. This is normal and objective, this is a feature of any person, so we need to endure until the end, until the last moment and believe that we are ready to fulfill the tasks facing us.”
Let us remind you that the Kiev team lost the first half in Dnepr, but managed to equalize soon after the break through the efforts of Vladislav Kabaev. The winning goal in the very endgame was scored by two more Vladislavs – Supryaga and Vanat, and by this time Dynamo was playing in the minority after the removal of Alexander Tymchik.
The hardest victory allowed Shovkovsky’s team to score 57 points and break away from Krivbass. Shakhtar is ahead with a 4-point lead. On May 1, Dynamo will host Veres in the rescheduled match of the 5th round, and four days later – also on their own field – they will play with Kolos.
