ex-forward miner and Ukrainian national team Andriy Vorobey in an exclusive interview for Sport Arena, he commented on Dynamo’s victory over Fenerbahce (2:1) in the Champions League qualification, and also assessed the prospects for the Kiev team in the confrontation with the Austrian Sturm.

“It was expected that the Turks would play first at home with such support from the fans. It was clear they were moving forward. Therefore, Dynamo had to play at the expense of the skill and experience of some one in order to hold back this onslaught. More or less Dynamo coped with this. That starting onslaught, which the Turks proposed, thank God, did not lead to anything. Dynamo did well, endured and squeezed the maximum.

Of course, there was luck on our side. I believe that Dynamo had luck on the side, and Buschan also showed himself excellently. Fart and Bushchan! That is, at the moment, Bushchan is probably even more than half the team.

In terms of the game, the Turks could not achieve their goal, because they are still raw. Probably, they still do not have some kind of coherence, some kind of game understanding. They have not yet come up in optimal shape for the matches. We played a little better. Although, to be honest, Dynamo had small mistakes and holes. But let’s hope that in the next games everything will work out and the principle “the further – the better” will work.

What do I think about the next opponent of Kiev, namely the Austrian Sturm? It will be interesting to see how Sturm will perform on the field. This is a European team. She will probably play harder. Dynamo plays number two. The team has an emphasis on such a game. Dynamo, one might say, tries to play on the counterattacks. The people of Kiev have fast players who can run out and score a goal. But in the match against Sturm, Dynamo will also have to play the first number somewhere. I don’t know how the Dynamo players will cope with this. It seems to me that there will be such a duel that both teams will not be able to play the first number.

There will be two equal opponents at the moment. Therefore, it is difficult to predict what the game will be like. But the matches will be very difficult. Ukrainian clubs missed a lot of time and our teams don’t have the same game tone as they had a year ago. Our teams will take incremental steps forward. There will be other matches with Sturm, and over time, the game of the Kyivans will get better and better.
