Antyukh: We failed the meeting with Obolon

Midfielder Zarya – about the game with Obolon in the 26th round of the UPL

Midfielder Zarya Denis Antyukh appreciated the match of the 26th round of the Ukrainian championship, in which he the team drew 0:0 with Obolon.

— In your opinion, why did Zarya fail to win this confrontation?

“I think we failed this meeting.” Even in the first half we could have easily opened the scoring. I don’t know what went wrong, but the game didn’t work out for us. Obolon had many chances at our goal, and in some cases the guests forgave us. It is clear that we played exclusively to win.

— Did Zarya’s personnel problems affect the results?

– Don’t even know. We missed the same Churko in the center of the field. Nobody’s game went well for us.

— Did you play better with Shakhtar than with Obolon?

— There was another game. We defended more with the miners and launched counterattacks. And now, playing at home, we had to build momentum and create chances.

— During the break, were the emotions in your locker room going through the roof?

— We talked with the guys. Everyone understood that something needed to be changed in the game. But it didn’t work out for us.

— Over the past week, Zarya had two matches with Shakhtar. According to experts, the Luhansk team generally showed a good level of play. If you played all your matches at this level, then Zarya would have a lot more points. Do you agree with this?

— It was a completely different game there. With Shakhtar everything was different. Even with our personnel problems, everyone saw that we do not lose quality if our leaders do not play. Our team does not consist of 11 players, but of 20-25 players.

— How many points does Zarya need to score in order to feel comfortable at the finish line of the Ukrainian Championship?

– As much as possible. Our task is to win every game. I believe that we are no worse than any opponent with whom we will play in the final matches of the UPL. Everything is in our hands and feet.
