The midfielder’s contract with Barcelona expires in the summer
Girona interested in signing a midfielder Barcelona Sergi Roberto this summer.
The 32-year-old midfielder’s contract with the Blaugrana expires in June. Barcelona have renewed attempts to extend the player’s agreement and are planning to offer a new short-term contract.
In turn, Girona is ready to provide Roberto with a long-term contract that guarantees a high income towards the end of his career. The White-Reds are looking for reinforcements for the team, counting on potential participation in the 2024/25 Champions League.
Roberto has made 19 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions this season. The captain of the blue garnets scored three goals and gave two assists.
Girona ranks second in the Spanish Championship with 71 points. In the next match, the team of Dovbik and Viktor Tsygankov will host Barcelona on May 4.
