The 39-year-old defender spent four seasons with the Blues
Defender Thiago Silva announced that he will leave Chelsea in the summer after his contract expires.
“I think in everything I’ve done here for four years, I’ve always given it my all. But unfortunately, everything has a beginning, middle and end. This does not mean the final end. I hope to leave with the door open so that I can return here in the near future, albeit in a different role.”
It was previously reported that Silva received an offer to move to Fluminense. The Brazilian club wants to sign the defender until December 2025.
Silva has been playing for Chelsea since 2020. It was previously reported that the Blues were ready to extend the veteran’s contract during the season.
Thiago Silva has made 34 appearances for the club in all competitions this season. The defender scored four goals in them.
Chelsea are ninth in the Premier League with 49 points. In the next match, the team of Ukrainian Mikhail Mudryk will play against Tottenham on May 2.
Four years, countless memories.
