Simons is 21 years old. He was named after the legend and current Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez. The footballer was brought up in the structure of the Catalan club from childhood, but at the age of 16 he left it and moved to PSG.

The Parisians, in turn, released Xavi to PSV in the summer of 2022, but after a powerful season (22 goals and 12 assists in 48 matches) they activated the buy-back option. Last summer, Simons was sent to RB Leipzig on a one-year loan. His contract with the French giant runs until 2027.

The young Dutchman is enjoying a successful season with the Bulls: 41 matches in all tournaments, 9 goals scored and 15 assists. In addition, Simons has been the main player of the Dutch national team for more than a year (13 matches).

PSG yesterday won their 12th French championship ahead of schedule, updating the national record. Leipzig is in fourth place in the Bundesliga, practically guaranteeing itself participation in the 2024/25 Champions League.
