The player from Brazilian Team revealed that he is undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer that originates in the lymphatic system.

Luana stated that the discovery happened a few weeks ago, after undergoing a series of tests. However, after some more detailed procedures, it was possible to identify the lymphoma and treatment began immediately. Chemotherapy has not yet started, but the midfielder announced that she will undergo this treatment soon.

“As a professional athlete I have faced many challenges on and off the field. I have always faced everything with courage and determination and this time will be no different. After undergoing detailed examinations over the last few weeks, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I will undergo chemotherapy treatment and I count on your support and prayers.”said Luana, in an official statement.

Afterwards, the player thanked her family and close friends for the support, but also thanked her club and the Women’s National Team for the support. “I thank the Brazilian team and also Orlando Pride for their unconditional support.
