Ancelotti hints at a press conference: “Few thought…”

In a press conference on the eve of the Champions League semi-final, Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, takes a dig and remembers the previous phase

This Tuesday, the 30th, the Bayern Munchen receive the Real Madridin a match valid for the semi-finals of Champions League. After a heroic qualifying on penalties against Manchester City, Carlo Ancelotti held a press conference in Munich, but has already started sending indirect messages to those who discredited the merengue club.

“Few thought I could do this press conference and we did it,” said the Italian coach. The reason for the comment was the favoritism linked to Manchester City in the quarter-finals, in addition to the difficulty that Real Madrid had in deciding games at the Etihad Stadium, home of the Citizens.

Talking about the clash against Bayern Munich, Ancelotti highlighted the opponent’s strengths and believes it will be a difficult game to predict. “They are very strong in transitions and have very fast players. They can play in different ways. We are two teams that don’t have a very clear identity and we can play games in different ways.”he stated.

Regarding favoritism, the commander was not blunt in his statement, but made a point of praising his opponent, despite not having been successful on the national stage this season. “We have confidence and a lot of respect for Bayern. He didn’t have a fantastic season in the Bundesliga, but he had a spectacular tie against Arsenal.”said Ancelotti.

As I said previously, the coach strongly believes in tradition and the “weight” of shirts in the Champions League. Thus, he showed a lot of respect for the trajectory of six-time champions Bayern Munich. “We have to take into account the quality and history of this club in the Champions League, which is very similar to what we did and counts a lot”concluded Ancelotti.
