Terzic: We have a plan to hurt PSG. It will be two equal matches

According to the Bumblebee coach, one of the main tasks for the semi-final confrontation is to close Mbappe

Head coach Borussia Dortmund Edin Terzic shared his thoughts before his first meeting with Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals Champions League 2023/24.

“How to stop PSG is not an easy question. I think every opponent wants to shut down Kylian Mbappe, but it doesn’t always work out. We must be prepared for anything. It’s good that we have already experienced a lot. We deserved this semi-final by beating difficult opponents. We shouldn’t overdo it, but we need to be confident in our abilities. We have a plan to harm them. It will be two equal matches.”

Let us remind you that Borussia reached the semi-final stage of the main European Cup, successively passing PSV (1:1, 2:0) and Atlético Madrid (1:2, 4:2). PSG, in turn, dealt with Real Sociedad (2:0, 2:1) and Barcelona (2:3, 4:1) during the playoffs.

It is curious that this season the teams have already played each other in the group stage. In the head-to-head meetings, the Parisians turned out to be stronger (2:0 at home, 1:1 in Dortmund), but the “group of death” (Milan and Newcastle were also in it) was won by Terzic’s team, gaining 11 points against eight points from the French giants.

The first match of the 2023/24 Champions League semi-finals will take place in Dortmund on Wednesday, May 1. The meeting starts at 22:00. The match will be officiated by the English team led by Anthony Taylor. The return match in Paris will take place on May 7.
