The first meeting in Munich ended in a productive draw
Head coach Bayern’s Thomas Tuchel summed up the results of the first confrontation with Real Madrid (2:2) in the 1/2 finals of the Champions League.
“We started very well and could have taken the lead from the first minute. Then we stopped sticking to our game plan. We missed a goal and the situation became more complicated. It got better in the second half and we showed more determination.”
“We were leading 2-1 and still had a lot of chances – we needed to score the third goal. It’s a strange feeling. They turned two chances into two goals.”
“Now the situation is very clear. Victory in Madrid and access to Wembley. For me, this confrontation is still a 50/50 chance. Let’s see what happens next.”
Sane and Kane scored for the Munich side. Vinicius scored twice for Blancos.
The return match will take place in Madrid on May 8.
