Former president of Lokomotiv Nikolai Naumov reacted to the announcement of a possible appointment Ralf Rangnick as head coach of Bayern.
According to German media reports, Bayern are considering giving Rangnick a contract until 2027 and giving him the opportunity to influence transfers.
— Rangnick was successful in some places, but not in others. Bayern think they can handle it. He has probably proven himself in Germany, which is not the case with his work in Russia. Rangnick did not succeed at Lokomotiv – just like in England. It is difficult to say what Bayern is guided by when inviting Rangnick. I certainly wouldn’t appoint him head coach of such a club, because he is an adventurer, not a coach. Now it’s up to Bayern to decide,” Naumov said, as quoted by RB Sport.
Rangnick served as Lokomotiv’s director of sports and development from July to November 2021. In October 2022, Lokomotiv fired head coach Josef Zinnbauer and sports director Thomas Zorn, and Rangnick also left the club with them.
