Yuri Maksimov threatened to resign from his position if the team did not beat its championship rival.

Yuri Maksimov said he may leave his post if his players fail to beat Krivbass in the next UPL match. The head coach himself spoke about it.

“I actually told the guys that if we don’t beat Krivbass, I’m leaving the team.

Later, perhaps, I will be ready to talk in more detail. There is no comment for now,” Sport-express.ua quoted Maksimov as saying.

The management of Dnepr-1 has already responded to the instructor’s statement. The commercial director of the team, Vyacheslav Fridman, believes that this is an emotional speech before an important game.

“I talked to Maksimov a few days ago, he didn’t tell me anything about his resignation, and I don’t know if he told the team about it.

Anything can happen based on emotion. If that’s what he said, I think it was more of a motivational speech.

Maksimov is not in a very good mood now, he is angry, but he is understandable. After the winter break, Dnepr-1 will be in first or second place with high hopes of not less than bronze. And now we have a tough fight for fourth place.

We really shouldn’t have lost to Rukh and Dynamo, but the result, as they say, is on the scoreboard,” said Friedman.

Let’s remember that Krivbass took third place in the standings, Dnepr-1 was next – in fourth place. However, there is a nine-point difference between the teams, which will be difficult to win again with four rounds before the end of the championship.

The match of the 27th round of the championship between the Dnieper and Krivoy Rog teams will take place on Monday, May 6.

We remind you that Dynamo more confidently defeated Veresk in the UPL.
