Tony is confident in the Ukrainian’s victory
Former world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew predicted the victory of the world champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO versions Alexandra Usika in the upcoming fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion against the WBC title holder Tyson Fury.
“Alexander Usik will win on points – 100%. I thought Anthony Joshua would beat him in the first fight, so I’m not saying that because I lost to him.”
“Which style is Fury hardest against? Against a fighter on the back foot. Usik wants you to attack him. He makes you look like a complete fool. “Usyk will leave Fury no choice but to attack him as he will create an advantage early in the fight and Tyson will be chasing a ghost.”
“Fury will not run after Usik like crazy, as this will play into Alexander’s hands. But at times Tyson will have to put pressure, and in this he will fail.”
The unification fight between Usik and Fury will take place on May 18. The list of other fights that will take place as part of the boxing evening in Saudi Arabia is also known. Among them is the fight between Ukrainian Daniel Lapin and Portuguese Octavio Pudivitra for the WBA Continental light heavyweight title.
The event will be hosted by Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The WBC proposes to reform the judges for the reporting fight, increasing their number to 5-6 people. Penalties for boxers who refuse to fight are $10 million.
WBC President Mauricio Suleiman announced that an agreement had been concluded between the boxers for a re-fight. The WBO is also ready to sanction the second fight. It was reported that the fate of a possible rematch depends on the holding of the first fight. Fury said that the contract has a mandatory rematch clause, and a re-fight with Usyk could take place in October.
