Athletistic / Football. Lawyer Andrei Knyazev said that Spartak Moscow striker Quincy Promes’ tax debts in Russia will not become an obstacle to his extradition from the United Arab Emirates to the Netherlands. Previously, the media published information that Promes had a debt to the Federal Tax Service of Russia in the amount of approximately 400 thousand rubles.
“From what I understand, Russia has not filed a request for the extradition of Promes. What is considered one’s debt in Russia is a civil procedure. Promes can reimburse it at any time, so it is not a criminal matter. in this case, this will not constitute an obstacle to the extradition of the footballer to the Netherlands,” Knyazev said, as quoted by Match TV.
On February 29, Quincy Promes failed to leave the United Arab Emirates. That day, the 32-year-old footballer was arrested by UAE police at Dubai airport. The reason for the arrest was a road accident, after which Promes fled the scene of the incident. The question of his extradition to the Netherlands now arises. The fact is that in his native country he was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for drug trafficking and stabbing with his cousin.
