Slovan officially announced the termination of his contract with Gerson Rodriguez

The Luxembourger played for Slovan on loan from Dynamo

Slovan Bratislava officially announced the termination of the contract with the winger Dynamo Gerson Rodriguez.

The club said in a statement that “the management managed to find a way to terminate cooperation with the player early”. Slovan emphasized that the reason for the termination of the contract was non-compliance with disciplinary standards.

Recently, the leader of the Luxembourg national team got into another scandal – he did not return to Slovan’s location in time after the international break. Head coach Vladimir Weiss called it a disciplinary problem. The player returned to training in the general group, but the club still decided to terminate cooperation.

Rodriguez has been a Dynamo player since the summer of 2019. The winger was regularly loaned out to the Kyiv club – to Turkish Ankaragucu, Eyupspor and Sivasspor, French Troyes, Emirati Al-Wahda, Slovak Slovan.

In total, the Luxembourg footballer played 53 matches for Dynamo, in which he scored nine goals and gave four assists. Gerson was recently sentenced by the Luxembourg City Court to 18 months of suspended imprisonment (and received a fine of 1,500 euros) for violence and battery.

The 28-year-old player moved to the club from Bratislava in February of this year. Rodriguez’s contract with the Kyiv club expires in the summer of 2025.

For Slovan, Gerson played eight matches in all competitions. He has five goals and one assist.

Slovan leads the Slovak championship standings, 19 points ahead of Spartak Trnava, three games before the end of the second stage of the season.
