Phil Foden is one of the main names in Manchester City and, with a moment of oscillation from Erling Haaland, a protagonist in the team’s campaign in Premier League. Thus, the striker was elected the best player in English football, in an award organized by English Football Writers’ Association.

Foden took 42% of the votes and beat players like Rodrihis Manchester City teammate, and Declan Riceof Arsenal. After the award was announced, the 23-year-old player spoke out. “I am immensely proud to win this award. Now I’m focused on trying to finish the season as strong as possible and trying to help City win more trophies.”he said.

In the current season, Phil Foden participated in 48 games this season, with 24 goals, his highest scoring record of his career, and 11 assists distributed to his teammates. In an interview, Pep Guardiola, commander of the Citizens, spoke about the Englishman’s performances and the impact he has demonstrated in the Premier League campaign.

“He has played very well. His impact in the final third is great and so is his work ethic. Every year, due to the number of games and minutes he plays, he becomes more mature. He understands the game,” said Guardiola, this Friday, 3.
