A number of clubs are awaiting results, hoping to invite the Uruguayan

Barcelona began negotiations on extending the contract with the defender Ronald Araujo.

The current agreement of the 25-year-old Uruguayan runs until the summer of 2026. The agreement contains a clause of one billion euros.

It is reported that several top clubs in Europe are awaiting the results of negotiations, hoping to make a transfer of the player. During the winter, several teams were interested in the centre-back, including Bayern. However, the player expressed a desire to remain in his club, and Blaugranas president Joan Laporta negotiated with Ronald about a new agreement.

This season, Araujo has made 36 appearances for the club in all competitions. Ronald scored one goal and gave one assist.

Barcelona is in third place in La Liga, one point behind Girona of the Ukrainians Dovbik and Tsygankov. The next match will see the Blaugrana host Real Sociedad on May 13.
