Shishchenko: I have no complaints about the guys. Our goal is European Cups

Polesie is in sixth place in the UPL

Acting head coach Polesie Sergey Shishchenko commented on the draw with Zorya (1:1) in the home match of the 27th round Ukrainian Premier League.

“At this stage the matches will not be easy, because the teams are fighting both for survival and for European competition. The match was really difficult, but it could have been easier. We were in the majority and were leading 1:0. I would like for us to finish the chances that we had and score more. Then it would be easier.”

“In the second half, we gave the initiative to Zarya somewhere. There was no certainty. We conceded a goal and the situation was such that Zarya went completely on the defensive and wanted to play on the counterattack. But we were not ready for this situation, although we prepared for them in the training process. But a practice is a practice, and a game is a game.”

“Perhaps we were not psychologically prepared for such a situation. There was no relaxation, but Guerrero’s skill. He’s a great player.”

“I have no complaints about the guys, they wanted to win, they were in the lead, there were good approaches, good moments. In such heat it was a maximum effort on their part. Therefore, I have no complaints against the guys at all. We have very good competitors in the fight for European Cups, we need to prepare for the remaining three matches. They will not be one hundred percent easy. Eurocups are the goal. We need to prepare even more seriously.”

Polesie with 43 points is in sixth place in the UPL. In the next match, Wolves will play against Krivbass on May 12.
