Maksimov: The game was a draw. Thanks a lot guys

The Dnipro coach once again complained about the difficult personnel situation in the team

Head coach SK Dnepr-1 Yuri Maksimov commented on the victory over Krivbass (1:0) in the 27th round match Ukrainian Premier League.

“Every coach works for results, and if there are no results, then something needs to be decided. Yes, I told the guys [о возможном уходе], to spur them on a little. Many thanks to them. They know how to play, but we gave a lot of gifts to our opponents in the championship, and somewhere in the last minutes we couldn’t stand it. This was the biggest headache for us.”

“I think the game today was a draw. This is in my opinion. The young guys are progressing, especially Gadzhiev. Today he played in the starting lineup, and I told him that Dibango would act against him – a very good footballer, physically strong, and in this component Ramik had to not give in to his opponent.”

“When you lead with a score of 1:0, you want the match to end as quickly as possible. Therefore, you already retreat to your half of the field with thoughts so as not to miss a goal.”

“Since I joined the team, a lot of players have left. The foreigners did not want to return to Dnepr, the players left in the winter, and after the missile attack on the Dnieper, when we were at the training camp in Turkey, the young Brazilians we were counting on left. Plus we had a transfer ban – we couldn’t invite anyone. We only managed to rent Ocheretko – he plays very well and helps us. And the team must progress: the weaker left, the stronger came. Then something will move forward.”

Let us remind you that Dnepr-1 beat the team of Yuri Vernidub with a minimal score, the only goal was scored by 18-year-old Ramik Gadzhiev.

After this match, Dnepr-1 scored 48 points and ranks fourth in the UPL standings, behind Krivbass by six points. In the next round of the Ukrainian championship, Maksimov’s team will play against Alexandria
