The Cossacks were also fined 30 thousand hryvnia.
Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association awarded Zaporozhye Metallurg technical defeat for failure to appear at the away match of the 6th round of the Elimination group First League against Khusta.
The offender was also fined 30 thousand hryvnia. Accordingly, Khust was awarded a technical victory with a score of 3:0.
Let us remind you that this match was supposed to take place on April 28, but Metallurg decided not to go to this match due to the large number of injured and sick players.
Earlier it became known that deputies of the Zaporozhye City Council, when adopting the budget for 2024, significantly cut funding for the KP MFK Metallurg. In view of this, the club launched the process of disbanding the second team. In mid-February, Metallurg-2 officially withdrew from the Second League 2023/24.
In March, the Cossacks confirmed that they would continue to play in the First League of Ukraine, despite financial problems and the loss of a number of key players. Anton Gai became the acting head coach until the end of the season.
MFK Metallurg, having lost all six matches in 2024 with a total score of 3:21, is in 17th place in the First League. A technical victory will allow Khust to rise to 14th place, into the safe zone.
