Napoli missed out on away win over Udinese

Cannavaro’s team escaped in the match with the former champion, but remained in the relegation zone

Napoli missed the victory over Udinese in the away match of the 35th round of the Italian Serie A – 1:1.

The first half of the meeting did not bring any goals. But soon after the resumption of play, the scoring was opened – Victor Osimhen headed ahead after a cross to the right from Matteo Politano.

The ex-champion generally confidently controlled the game, possessing the ball three times more than his opponent, and not allowing anything dangerous near his goal, except for rare set-pieces.

However, Fabio Cannavaro’s team was able to make the most of their micro-chances. Another serve passed, Thomas Christensen threw to Isaac Success, and the forward beat Leo Ostigor and shot Alex Meret.

The team from Udine, despite local success, remained in the relegation zone with 30 points. There are two points from the saving 17th place. In the next round, Udinese will play Lecce away.

Napoli is in eighth place in Serie A. On May 11, Francesco Calzona’s team will host Bologna.
