In the last round, some of Druzhba’s competitors did not play, some lost points. Thus, the victory over the Lviv “two” received additional significance, and striker Somov, who scored three times, essentially ensured it. Based on the results of the reporting round, PFL debutant Druzhba secured medals for the 2023/24 season. This made a great impression on the Sport Arena and PFL jury when choosing the best player of the week.
– How unexpected and pleasant is it for you to be recognized as the best player of the tour in the Second League?
– Happy that I became the best in the tour, – Ivan told Sport Arena. – It’s nice when your work is noted by authoritative experts. Thanks to my teammates, because without them I would not have been able to achieve this result.
– In the last round you missed the victory over Zvyagel (1:1). How painful was this result for you and what conclusions were drawn?
– Of course, we were upset, because we missed the victory a few seconds before the final whistle. However, this happens often in football, so it was worth forgetting about it as soon as possible and moving on. I think we learned that we shouldn’t be out of the game for a few minutes after the final whistle.
– What were your expectations when approaching the game with Karpaty-2? Did you understand that you can’t underestimate your opponent?
– We analyzed the opponent very carefully and were expecting a difficult game. Karpaty-2 is a young, ambitious team. They play interesting football, so there was no talk of underestimation. We respect our opponents, but we always try to play our own football.
– Already in the thirteenth minute, after a pass from Cuba, you headed the ball into the net. Do you play such combinations?
– Indeed, in training we practice flank serves and try to improve our game. It’s great that our developments can be implemented during the game.
– After the goal, did you feel that the opponent began to get nervous? Did you understand that you wouldn’t give up yours?
– I felt that we could score more. We understood that we shouldn’t stop there. We enjoyed football.
– Even before the break, you scored your second goal of the match with a falling header. Remember this episode?
– In that episode I should have scored a few seconds earlier. Grishchenko passed the ball, but I hit the crossbar. It’s good that Artem was the first to pick up the ball and make a serve, and while I was falling, I sent the ball into the net.
– Which of your three goals did you enjoy the most?
– First of all, I want to note my third goal, because we played out the counterattack like clockwork. We sent Porokhnya into the gap along the flank and he made a great shot.
– When was the last time you scored a hat-trick?
– This is my first hat-trick at the professional level. Before that, he scored three goals per region alone. Experience helps me play calmly in key episodes.
– By the way, Sport Arena presents interesting statistics – for your new club this is also the first hat-trick in the PFL competition! Let’s talk about tournament wrestling. The victory allowed Druzhba to move into second place. Feeling empowered to fight for a direct promotion?
– We have three games left, three finals. I think that Druzhba can win all three games. Everything is in our hands and feet. We will do everything to achieve the desired result.
– Which match, in your opinion, is the best so far for Friendship in 2024?
– I am convinced that the best matches are still ahead. There were many strong performances by Druzhba, but there is no limit to perfection. We need to work even harder to please the fans with the game and the results.
– In the next round you will play against Kudrovka, who took points from Zvyagel. Considering this, there can be no underestimation of the opponent?
– Of course, we approach this match with the utmost responsibility. We know that FC Kudrovka is a tough nut to crack and it just won’t happen. They took points from our team in the first round, so there will definitely be enough motivation. We will do everything to score the important three points.
– You have already played in a number of clubs. Where have you managed to reveal your potential the most at the moment? Maybe you regret moving to some club?
– So far, the highest point in my career was the victory in the Second League last season with Buzovskaya Niva. I never regret anything. I think that in each club I gained certain experience that helps me.
– What goals do you set for yourself for the final matches of the season?
– We need to win every match. I will give my all to achieve this goal.
