After a tougher match than expected, Taranto managed to get through the round against a tough and well-positioned Latina who gave it her all to try and win. Especially in the second half, Fontana’s team put Taranto in a difficult position, and Vannucci became the real hero of the match and the author of at least three decisive saves. In the first half, Latina showed their best, knowing full well that barricades were useless. The Pontina team’s maneuver was simpler and, especially with D’Orazio on the left flank, created difficulties for the defense of Luciani and Riggio. Taranto acts more like a throw-in player and seems more constrained. It seems that tension played a bad joke on the Ionians. However, it is Taranto who has a good opportunity with Bifulco with a lead that is blocked by the defense. Latina respond with a wonderful cross from D’Orazio, but Mastroianni narrowly misses the ball. Pontini is more dangerous with the usual D’Orazio, who is the protagonist of a good high ball strike. The rhythms seem to slow down a bit in the final half. Taranto tries to break through on the left flank with the help of Ferrara and Zonta; the latter attempts a good cross, which Luciani does not take full advantage of. In the second half, Capuano changed his tactical structure to a 3-5-2 formation with Ladinetti and Valietti entering the field. Latina is very dangerous for two reasons. First, the wild D’Orazio challenges the goalkeeper Vannucchi with a superb half-volley, but immediately after this Ercolano enters the half of the field and finds himself in front of Vannucchi, who blocks the Pontic striker’s output. Taranto responds with the opportunity of Zonta, who is well served by Valietti and sends it wide of the goal. Taranto tries again with newcomer Orlando attempting a curling shot deflected by Guadagno into the corner. D’Orazio was again the hero, controlling De Santis’ pass well and firing a shot that saved Vannucchi. Tension in the final: Taranto resists Latina’s attacks and comes very dangerously close to goal, and Mastroianni, guiltily left alone in the penalty area, seriously challenges Vannucchi, who makes an excellent save. It ends four minutes into stoppage time after a long respite for the Rossoblu fans. And, of course, everyone’s jubilation for Iacovone, who will now see his boys continue their path to the playoffs. Latina comes out of this match and the playoffs with her head held high, trying to win the match until the very end. And now Taranto continues on his way, thinking about the next match. Now the peaks and valleys of the game
