Coach Khusta Tsytkin: The UAF must give some guarantees for holding competitions, if everyone must serve, then there is no need to hold the championship, we will do other things

The mentor of the First League club speaks about the detention of his team’s footballer by TCC representatives

Head coach FC Khustplaying in the First League, Vladimir Tsytkin spoke about the situation with the detention of a player from his team by TCC representatives Nikolai Sirash. Yesterday Transcarpathian club made an official statement, asking the PFL and UAF to respond.

According to Tsytkin, organizations that hold football tournaments in Ukraine must develop clear mechanisms for players to perform, as well as rules and grounds that give the right to a deferment from mobilization.

“We played away, and after the match Sirash asked to take one day off because he had a sick child and needed to be taken to the hospital. Kolya went to Kyiv, he is a migrant from Chernigov, lives in Irpen. Sirash had been taking care of the child all this time, and yesterday he returned and this happened. He arrived by train in Khust, and TCC representatives picked him up right at the station. I guess illegal. There was no summons, nothing, he was simply taken to the military registration and enlistment office and contact with him disappeared.”

“We tried to find out at least something yesterday at the military registration and enlistment office, but no one talks to us or explains anything. They don’t want to communicate and don’t even pick up the phone. The only thing we managed to find out was that Sirash was already in Mukachevo; he sent an SMS to a friend at night. I don’t know where they are taking him.”

“The club wrote a letter to the PFL and the UAF. We have informed everyone, but so far there has been no response. We don’t know what to do next. For example, FC Chernigov will come to us for a match, and they will be “packed” at the station. Or this will happen to us on the road. Or they will come to the stadium and take the entire team from there; five or six of us are of conscription age. I cannot guarantee that we will play the First League match against Chernigov on Saturday. We need to do something. President Khust tried to call Kyiv yesterday, but… Honestly, no one cares.”

“If we hold competitions, we must understand what the rules and conditions are. The UAF must provide any guarantees for the holding of competitions. During competitions, professional clubs must be protected so that such situations do not occur, at least for the duration of the championship or for the duration of the players’ contracts. From May 18, when the Mobilization Law comes into force, everything will intensify.”

“If nothing changes, the teams will simply withdraw from the Ukrainian championship because they cannot guarantee cooperation for the players. We need to decide. If everyone must serve, then there is no need to hold a championship; we will do other things. If we have a championship, then there must be guarantees of participation for football players during it. Otherwise, the teams will break up. How can I invite a player to Khust if they can just pick him up on the street? What if they take five players, six, ten? There must be some rules!”

At the second stage of the First League championship, Khust plays in the “Knockout” group. After seven rounds of the second part of the championship, Tsytkin’s team is in sixth place. In the next round, Khust Domaa will play Chernigov on May 11.
