Operational Command “West” reacted to the statement FC Khust about the detention of a football player by representatives of the TCC Nikolai Sirash.
“We support Ukrainian football, but we put the defense of Ukraine first.”
“Commenting on the emotional message from the Khust football team, we note that the process of booking and obtaining a deferment from mobilization is strictly regulated. If an athlete does not have a legal basis and a properly completed reservation, he may be subject to conscription.”
“At a time when hundreds of outstanding athletes in the ranks of the Defense Forces are heroically fighting the aggressor, sometimes at the cost of their own lives, the attempts of the football club to make its players privileged compared to other citizens of Ukraine and to put the interests of the football club above the defense of the country are surprising, to put it mildly.”
“Only together we will win this war!” – says the official statement of the operational association.
Let us remind you that the Transcarpathian club made an official statement, asking the PFL and UAF to respond to the situation with the detention of their team player Nikolai Sirash by representatives of the TCC.
The head coach of FC Khust Vladimir Tsytkin also gave his comment. In his opinion, organizations that hold football tournaments in Ukraine must develop clear mechanisms for players to perform, as well as rules and grounds that give the right to a deferment from mobilization.
At the second stage of the First League championship, Khust plays in the “Knockout” group. After seven rounds of the second part of the championship, Tsytkin’s team is in sixth place. In the next round, Khust will play at home with Chernigov on May 11.
