The day before, May 7, the German club had beaten PSG with a score of 1-0 and eliminated the Parisians from the Champions League. After the match, a post appeared on the official Borussia page on social networks with a republication of the publication of Paris Saint-Germain dated March 12, 2020. Then the Parisians posted a photo in which their players parody the famous celebration of Erling Haaland, who was then playing at Borussia. “Like good wine”, this republication is signed on the Borussia page.

During the 2019/2020 season, PSG met Borussia in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League. In the first away match, the French lost to Borussia with a score of 1:2, but managed to win at home (2:0) and advanced in the tournament.
