Getafe hopes to keep Greenwood for next season

It was previously reported that Manchester United’s priority is to sell the winger

Getafe hopes that he can keep the winger in his lineup Mason Greenwoodthe rights to which belong to Manchester Unitedfor one more season.

President of the Spanish club Angel Torres stated:

“If it was all up to the guy, his parents and the club, I think he would have stayed another year. “As for Manchester United, the news we have received since last week is that if there is a good offer they will want to sell him because he is not going to go back there.”

“We will have to wait until the end of June. The people and the coach are very happy with him. I think he will stay with us for another season or at least until January. He’s a good footballer,” concluded Torres.

Let us remind you that the contract of 22-year-old Greenwood with Manchester United runs until the summer of 2025, however, it seems that the English club is not counting on him. At the end of April, it was reported that the Red Devils’ priority in relation to the player is his full sale in the next transfer window.

Mason is spending the current season on loan in Getafe – 32 matches, 10 goals and six assists. Previously, the player himself expressed a desire to play another season in the Spanish club, which owns 25% of the rights to the player.

Getafe is in tenth place in La Liga. The team from the suburbs of Madrid has already insured itself against relegation and retains a theoretical chance of qualifying for European competition.
