Kambosos: Lomachenko is talented, but I have speed, explosiveness and a big heart

The fight for the vacant IBF lightweight belt will take place on May 12 in Perth, Australia.

Australian boxer George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs) said that he has the necessary attributes to defeat the former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs).

“I like being an outsider. I love putting on a big mega fight in Australia that the whole world and the whole country is talking about. Many people say that this will be an easy fight for Lomachenko. No problem, we’ll see on May 12.”

“Lomachenko is extremely talented, he has boxing legs and a boxing brain. I have my own attributes. I have my own speed, my own explosiveness, and also a damn big heart. I have the will and motivation to do whatever happens in battle.”

“I’m ready for anything. I am excited. I hope he is in better shape now. I hope there will be no excuses on his part, because only victory is important to me. I am a true warrior at heart. I am extremely focused, I have fire, desire and the will to win,” Kambosos said.

The fight between Lomachenko and Kambosos will take place on May 12. The vacant IBF lightweight belt will be on the line. The event, which also includes two undercard fights, will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, starting at approximately 5 a.m. Kyiv time.

Let us remember that in May 2023, Lomachenko lost to Devin Haney in a fight for the title of absolute world champion. In turn, Kambosos defeated Briton Maxi Hughes in his last fight, winning the IBO lightweight title.
