The new agreement contains a clause of 500 million euros
Barcelona officially announced the extension of the contract with one of its main talents – defender Pau Kubarsi.
The new agreement with the 17-year-old player runs until June 30, 2027. The contract also contains a clause in the amount 500 million euros.
Back in April, it was reported that the Catalan club had agreed with Pau on the financial part of the new contract. Previously, it was assumed that the ransom amount of 1 billion euros would be included in the agreement, but it was subsequently halved.
Kubarsi has been brought up in the Barcelona system since 2018, having moved from neighboring Girona. He made his debut for the Blaugranas first team in January, a few days before his 17th birthday. In April, Pau became the youngest defender to start a Champions League quarter-final. Kubarsi quickly won a place in the team; Now he has 20 matches and one assist for the first team in all tournaments.
Barcelona is third in La Liga with 73 points. The next match will see the Blaugrana host Real Sociedad on May 13.
