Potter finally rejected the offer to lead Ajax

Mentor continues to explore career options

English coach Graham Potter finally refused the offer to head Ajax.

The Amsterdam club made the Englishman their priority target for the position of coach. Potter had previously rejected Ajax’s first request. Later, the coach confirmed his decision, noting that the Dutch project was not suitable for him at the moment.

The coach’s last place of work was Chelsea. Potter took charge of the Londoners in September 2022, replacing Thomas Tuchel and signing a five-year contract. However, the agreement with the coach was terminated in April last year.

Under Potter, Chelsea signed the transfer of Ukrainian midfielder Mikhail Mudryk. For the midfielder of Shakhtar and the Ukrainian national team, Chelsea paid 100 million euros.

Ajax is fifth in the Eredivisie. Until the end of the season, John van ‘t Schip will temporarily serve as the team’s coach.
