Girona is determined to keep Dovbik for next season

Juventus approached the player’s agent, but the Catalan club does not want to part with the scorer

Girona does not intend to release the Ukrainian bomber Artem Dovbik next summer. The club wants to keep the striker on its roster for at least the next season.

According to Spanish media, Napoli and Juventus are interested in Artem. In particular, representatives of the Turin club were in contact with the player’s agent Alexei Lyundovsky. The latter informed the management of Girona about the proposals received, to which the Catalan club replied that Dovbik was not for sale in the coming summer.

Dovbik’s current contract with Girona runs until 2028. The club is actively working on a new agreement for Artem, in which it intends to stipulate a guaranteed buyout amount for the player in the amount of 100 million. At the same time, according to available information, the Ukrainian forward’s clause is currently relatively small and amounts to less than 30 million euros.

It was previously reported that Girona expects many offers for Dovbik in the summer. Among the contenders for the top scorer of Examples (20 goals), among others, were Chelsea, as well as Spanish giants Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

Let us remind you that in the last match against Alaves (2:2 away), Dovbik, like his teammate and compatriot Viktor Tsygankov, scored an assist. In total, Artem has 20 goals (all in the championship) and 9 assists in 36 matches of the season. The Ukrainian tops the list of Primera Liga scorers, two goals ahead of Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.

Girona ranks second in La Liga, but could be overtaken by Barcelona at the end of the round. The team of Dovbik and Tsygankov will play their next match on Tuesday, May 14, at home against Villarreal.
