Changes in management, strengthening of the roster and coaching staff are expected
As became known Sports ArenaZaporozhye Metallurgist is working to attract a new sponsor.
Changes are expected in the club’s management. The team will also receive a new coaching staff and strengthen the roster of players.
Let us remind you that in winter, deputies of the Zaporozhye City Council, when adopting the budget for 2024, significantly cut funding for the KP MFC Metallurg. In view of this, the club started the process of disbanding the second team. In mid-February, Metallurg-2 officially withdrew from the Second League 2023/24.
In March, the Cossacks confirmed that they would continue to play in the First League of Ukraine, despite financial problems and the loss of a number of key players. Anton Gai became the acting head coach until the end of the season.
The team did not go to the match of the 6th round of the First League Elimination group against Khust at the end of April. Metallurg announced that the club made this decision due to the large number of injured and sick players. The UAF Control and Disciplinary Committee gave the Cossacks a technical defeat and fined them 30 thousand hryvnia.
Metallurg is in 17th place in the First League with 25 points. In the next match, the Cossacks will play with Ternopil Niva on May 12. The meeting starts at 13:30.
