WBA lightweight champion is ready to meet with the Ukrainian
WBA Champion Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) said he wants to meet the IBF and IBO lightweight world champion Vasily Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) after his fight with Frank Martin.
“He’s next for Frank, let me deal with Martin first,” Davis wrote on social media.
Davis will defend his title against Martin on June 15. The fight will take place in Las Vegas, America.
Lomachenko defeated George Kambosos by technical knockout in the 11th round. The Ukrainian knocked down his opponent twice, and the third time the judge stopped the fight early.
Vasily stated that he plans to take a short rest before returning to the ring. Lomachenko commented that he might have his next fight in 2024.
The Ukrainian won the vacant IBF lightweight belt, which was previously vacated by his previous opponent Devin Haney. Vasily also took away the IBO belt, which Kambosos owned.
