The project will last at least six months
Goalkeeper of Benfica and the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Trubin And Association of Unconquered Communities (ANO) launched a joint project to help athletes from the regions covered by the ANO.
Trubin and ANO in May paid the first prizes in the amount of 5,000 hryvnia to four Ukrainian athletes:
- Barannik Nikolay Viktorovich (Lugansk region). Powerlifting; 1st place at the World Powerlifting Championships in 2022 and 2023.
- Penina Tatyana Sergeevna (Donetsk region). Underwater sports; 4 gold and 3 silver medals at three stages of the Junior World Cup (Italy, Lithuania, Hungary) in 2023.
- Masik Alexey Yurievich (Zaporozhye region). Greco-Roman wrestling; bronze medalist of the Youth Olympic Games.
- Nasonova Tatyana Vladimirovna (Kherson region). Athletics: World Veteran Athletics Champion in shot put in 2023 (Torun, Poland).
According to Trubin, the project will last at least six months. Its task is to support athletes of different disciplines in difficult times for the country.
In April 2024, Trubin became the ambassador of health and sports of the Association of Unconquered Communities. ANO unites more than 75 communities from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
Today Trubin played for Benfica in the match of the 33rd round of the Portuguese championship against Arouca – 5:0. The Ukrainian goalkeeper played a clean sheet for the first time in his last eight matches.
