George recently lost to Vasily Lomachenko
Australian boxer George Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs), after losing to Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs), said that he was ready to continue the fight, but his team decided to throw in the towel in the 11th round.
“I wanted to get up and continue the fight, but the referee and my father always look at the situation realistically. I became undisputed and fought the best of the best. I couldn’t give 100 percent anymore, but I’m a warrior. Let’s see what will happen next. I sold another stadium. So much for Australian boxing. I’m not done yet.”
Lomachenko defeated Kambosos by technical knockout in the 11th round. The Ukrainian knocked down his opponent twice, and the third time the judge stopped the fight early.
The Ukrainian won the vacant IBF lightweight belt, which was previously vacated by his previous opponent Devin Haney. Vasily also took away the IBO belt, which Kambosos owned.
